Now listen, all of you, for all we know that’s a brand new life form over there, and if it’s come inside to discover us, then what’s it found? This little bunch of humans… what do you amount to? Murder? ‘Cause this is where you decide, you decide who you are. Could you *actually* murder her? Any of you? Really? Or are you better than that.
I never noticed the significance of this scene (probably because I was too busy fangirling over the near Nalu-kiss), but I love the similarities between these two couples, particularly in this moment: They started out as friends and teammates, are protective and care for one another, kept mementos of their first jobs together (and know the signficance such a relic holds).
It’s like getting a sneak-peak of Natsu and Lucy’s future, adorable offspring and all.
But most of all, I love how Natsu’s the one to point out the significance of their souvenir. So often, we think he’s the clueless, naive one … but really, it’s Lucy who blushes and fights the attraction more. We don’t see Natsu trying to backpedal out of that kiss!
Besides, we all know where Natsu keeps his important things… and most of those (that we see, anyway) are from after he met Lucy.
Coincidence? After the Asuka special, I doubt it.
Plus, I bet you’d never find Lucy’s maid outfit at a pawn shop. If they were ever strapped for cash, I bet the rubble from the meeting hall would be the first thing to go. ^_^

HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY, EUN JIWON! (June 8, 1978)
"I could not fake my passion for fame and popularity. The stage where I used to perform was like a theatre and I was acting. I could not wear a costume that didn’t fit me, then act happy or sad. It would be unnatural if it’s not exactly what I wanted. I had to find my own suit before finding my audience and fans."
